We all love Dal Makhani, one of the most popular lentil dishes. Traditionally dal makhani is prepared by cooking lentils for several hours. Here’s a tasty and easy dal makhani recipe that you will definitely fall in love with.

What you'll need:

  • 1 Pack of ChefBoss Makhani Gravy
  • Urad dal ¾ Cup (165 Gms)
  • Rajma (Kidney Beans) ¼ cup (65 Gms)
  • Salt 1 Teaspoon
  • Kasoori Methi 5-8 Gms
  • Butter (Unsalted) 20-30 Gms
  • Chopped coriander and cream for garnishing (optional)

3 Easy Steps Recipe

Wash and rinse urad dal (whole black lentil) and rajma (kidney beans) in a large bowl. Soak in 3 cups water overnight. In the morning, drain the water in which the dal and rajma was soaked. Transfer the dal and rajma to a pressure cooker with 1 teaspoon salt. Add around 3.5 cups water.

Pressure cook on high-medium heat for 10 whistles, then lower the heat to low-medium and cook for another 10 minutes. In total around 15 to 20 whistles. Let the pressure release naturally. The dal and rajma should be completely cooked and you should be able to mash them with your fingers.

step 3Once the dal is cooked empty the content of the packet Makhani Gravy in the pot and give it a thorough mix. Let it boil for a minute add the cream and the butter and simmer the flame.

Roast the Kasoori Methi over slow flame and crush the same between the palms and sprinkle on the Dal. Serve Hot finished with a dollop of butter and a swirl of Cream ,garnish with a sprig of coriander. Bon Appetit.
